BMW drug-driver with no insurance hurtles off the M6 near Lancaster

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the BMW crash on the junction 34 southbound slip road at around 2pm.

The driver escaped from the wreck with minor injuries, but police checks revealed that they had a revoked licence and no insurance.

Police said the driver’s failure to navigate a “gentle” corner of the southbound slip road at Halton Interchange aroused their suspicions and a roadside drug test was requested.

The drug wipe tested positive for cannabis and the driver has been taken into custody.
