A SERIOUS crash involving two vehicles happened on Blackburn Road in Accrington last night.
Police and paramedics arrived at the scene just after 10pm and closed of the road, by the junction of Lister Street, to allow paramedics to treat the injured person.
However officers were disappointed to find some of the locals causing problems by cutting police tape and gathering in large numbers, making the police investigation more difficult.
A police spokesperson said: “There are Covid breaches with the groups gathering in more than six and the issues caused are taking officers away from dealing with a serious collision.
“I’m sure if it was one of their family members injured they would want paramedics to treat them and officers to thoroughly investigate the collision.”
The injured person was taken to hospital but was then discharged when fortunately their injuries turned out to be less serious then first feared.
Police reopened the road at 1.30am.
