Patterdale Mountain Rescue was called to Kirkstone Pass in the early hours of Sunday morning, January 11.
A single team member was involved in the incident, which lasted 40 minutes.
Following discussions with Cumbria Police, it was decided that officers would attend using a 4×4 vehicle.
