Lovebirds enjoy best day of their lives in the Lake District

Dawn Kinnish (maiden name Peel), 44, tied the knot to Adrian Kinnish, 55. The pair, who are both from Morecambe, work together in their own drainage company.

The couple have known each other for more than 15 years and have been together for six years after ‘bumping into each other’ in the pub, said Mrs Kinnish.

They got married shortly after their engagement, on Septemeber 17 2023 at the Merewood Hotel in Windermere.

“The big staircase in the Hotel sold it to me,” said Mrs Kinnish.

“We have a really big family but just wanted it to be about us so we had my daughter and son, Adie’s two sons and my parents there.”

She said they couldn’t have asked for a nicer day as everything was perfect and went as planned – despite a few ‘stressful’ situations that made the day ‘more enjoyable’.

“When I finally arrived at the hotel I didn’t realise the room was ready as no one was around to ask so I had to get changed in the downstairs restroom, which wasn’t very practical, as my daughter was helping me into my dress, the photographer Julie was knocking on the door saying that my room had been ready – it’s something we will always remember because it made everyone laugh,” she said.

“We stayed in the honeymoon suite which was amazing, the view from there is perfect.
Adie had said he would never have got married if we had never met so I have to say thank you for making me a very happy wife. The day was perfect and I wouldn’t alter it in any way.”

The pair went on a honeymoon to Greece for a week, which Mrs Kinnish described as a ‘perfect’ holiday.

The couple would like to thank a number of people for making their day so special, including: Firths Jewellers, photographer  Julie Robinson Photographer, Merewood Hotel and the family.
