NETHERFIELD were left frustrated by the rain after their game at Morecambe was eventually abandoned.
Both Teams started the game and Netherfield who batted first managed to get 40 overs in and posted a relatively competitive total of 123-8 with Shrikant Mundhes 30 and Tom Andertons 21 keeping the Field in the game.
Liam Moffat tried to bowl Netherfield out after he returned figures of 6-50, before the game was eventually abandoned.
The game started relatively late as Morecambe won the toss and fielded first as they reduced Netherfield onto 32-2.
This came after Liam Moffat was able to see off Ben Barrow who was caught by Jonathan Rongsen before the opening bowler trapped Josh Dixon LBW.
James Bowman and Shirkant Mundhe offered some resistance where Bowman scored 20-38.
However, he was eventually bowled by Moffat.
Moffat continued to apply further pressure trapping Finlay Richardson LBW before bowling Brad Earl with The Field struggling on 76-5.
Mundhe who had batted well for 30 became Moffats latest victim after he was trapped LBW before Kieran Moffat bowled Lewis Richardson.
However, Tom Andertons knocks of 21 kept Netherfield in the game and while Anderton eventually fell to Rongsen Jonathan, both Oli Wileman and Isaac Medhurst frustrated the hosts as the rain eventually came as Netherfield closed on 123-8 off 40 overs.
In the end the game was eventually abandoned with both teams taking five points each.
