Diving is an exciting sport but you don’t have to be an Olympic athlete to take part. People of all ages, shapes and sizes can dive! For safety, you should be able to swim 200m unaided and be confident in the water.
PADI (Professional Association of Dive Instructors) is an internationally recognised organisation which co-ordinates training. Getting the right training will make the scuba diving experience more pleasurable and safe. Even though scuba diving, as a sport, is extremely safe, our bodies are not designed to survive underwater. Regardless of the scuba / dive training organisation you chose, they all have a common thread: Health, Theory, Confined Water Dives and Open Water Dives.
To dive safely, one require the use of specialist equipment. Modern scuba diving equipment is extremely well designed and if properly maintained can last for years.
