COMPETITION: DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE IN LANCASTER WHO DESERVES A ‘LOCKDOWN LIFT?’

Say a special thank you by nominating an unsung hero who has made a positive difference to you or the Lancaster community with an Easter hamper worth £100.

Williamson Court, a McCarthy Stone independent living community of over-70s in Lancaster is inviting nominations for members of the public of all ages, who’s charitable or goodwill efforts throughout the Covid-19 pandemic have so far gone unrecognised.

Retirees at Williamson Court want to say a special thank you to everyone who has been a support to them while some of its residents have needed to self-isolate. On the homeowner’s behalf, McCarthy Stone is to award a Fortnum & Mason Easter hamper worth £100 to an unsung hero who has made a positive difference in the community of Lancaster.

It could be someone who has gone that extra mile to help their isolated neighbours, launched an initiative to help emergency workers or made a huge difference to an individual’s life by a simple – but significant act of kindness.

Andrea Stewart, Estates Manager at Williamson Court commented: “It has been a challenging time over the past 12 months, but as often the case, dark times can bring out the best in society and at Williamson Court we are incredibly lucky to have so many people putting in fantastic efforts and giving up their time. From our cleaners to our carers, to members of the public who have helped out with supermarket shopping, sent little cards and gifts or offered to run errands. The selfless actions of those within our local community has been so humbling and we wanted to do something, however small, to say thank you for this and to give all the unsung heroes in Lancaster the opportunity to be recognised.”

The winning nominee will receive a lockdown lift of a delicious Fortnum & Mason Easter hamper worth £100 delivered to their home, complete with delicious milk chocolate Easter egg, Easter Simnel and pistachio and clotted cream biscuits; a sweet selection, rhubarb and raspberry conserve and luxury nougat chocolate Easter eggs.

All entries must be entitled ‘Lockdown Lifts competition’. Nominate your unsung hero by emailing: mccarthystone@mccann.com with the subject header ‘Lancaster Lifts’ by the closing date of Thursday 15th April 2021. There will be one winner only.

The winner must agree to publicity and no correspondence can be entered into. Your contact details will be passed onto McCarthy Stone so they can contact you if your nominee is chosen but for no other reason.
